Confessions of a Precog

psy.jpg

Although acceptance of psychic phenomena has become much wider during the last twenty years in western society, some aspects of psychic experience are still either completely ignored, or inhabit a liminal zone at the margins of psychic study. Precognitive experience is one of these. One of the significant aspects of precognition that distinguishes from it from directed psychic activity is that is involuntary. Precognition happens to the precog. Normally, the experience is unsought and the recipient is passive. Experientially it feels like an awareness shift towards incoming data and images that are coming from ‘elsewhere'.
For example, one of the more common forms of precog that I have experienced fairly often is the ‘just around the corner' type of event such as ‘seeing' a deer running onto the road around a bend that you are about to drive around. In these cases, the images are clear and unequivocal. I see the deer run onto the road in precog. I slow the car down and then as I corner the bend, I see the deer again. Only this time, the deer is just stepping onto the road because I have slowed down; it sees the car and bucks and springs away. This interests me. Where is that image coming from? I see the deer as it will be if I don't slow down, running into the middle of the road. Does that exist somewhere? Then, I respond to the image, slow down and that imminent reality changes. The deer springs away. In some senses the image I saw in precog didn't happen. In some senses, it changes what happens. And in another sense, both the precognition and the actual reality are inseparably embedded.
I wish that when I first started having precogs about twenty years ago that I had someone I could have talked to about what was happening. Much the same as other forms of psychic ‘awakening', the awakening precogs experiences many, or all, of the symptoms of a ‘spiritual emergency' in Dr. Stanislav Grof's terminology. But whereas directed psychics (those that experience their abilities under their rational control and direction) have a much more clearly defined community and even a profession, those who experience a strong sense of precognition are much more likely to see the experience as invasive, confusing and even disturbing. I certainly did. Try explaining to a girlfriend that you are mad about something that she is going to do, but hasn't even thought about doing yet! It's not easy. And yet, for the precog the ‘fact' that the other person is going to do something, is ‘known' to the precog. There's no thinking, or speculation, involved in precognition. You either know, or you don't know. Sometimes the knowing is accompanied by images, sometimes not. It can be confusing for the 'precog' and even more confusing for those around them. I am sometimes woken instantaneously from deep sleep states by a precog. I know something. I can't do anything about that knowing, I didn't ask for it, it just happened. It can be awkward.

Once I was awoken from a deep sleep state into a total lucid awareness that a person I only knew via the internet, who was on the other side of the world, was planning to make a personal and professional attack on a teacher of mine. I emailed the teacher right away. Fortunately, the teacher was open and receptive enough to just receive the information without judgment. Within a couple of hours, the attack happened, but the forewarning meant it didn't come as a surprise and it was swiftly dealt with. I've learnt not to ask ‘what does it mean?', when I receive a precog. I just accept the incoming data and imagery without analyzing or judging it. This is because it just doesn't help to do so, this is something that is happening to me, not that I am causing to happen. This can be amply illustrated by the fact that precogs contain information that I do not, and in many cases, could not know. Analysis and judgement just tend to result in the precog being dismissed, whereas the point of precognition seems usually to be to take some sort of corrective, or anticipatory, action. This isn't always the case. Short-term immediate precogs like the deer on the road, usually result in an immediate, even sometimes reflexive action, but more general precogs that aren't specific messages to an individual relating to something happening immediately, or in the near future, often result in a change of attitude or disposition, rather than an action.

In my experience, precognitive activity is pretty much exactly how they are depicted by Philip K Dick in his masterful short story ‘Minority Report'. Events that are highly relevant in the short term to an individual, warning of unseen or unsuspected dangers, are usually very sharp, definite and image driven. Just as in the movie of the story, the precog ‘awakens' to the precognition. It can be startling, powerful, and even painful. Sometimes it comes with an accompanying adrenalin surge. On the other hand, events that are more long term and don't relate to a single individual are often more ambiguous, less literal and even ‘mythic' in their imagery. A recent precog I had was the combination of two images. One was Mitt Romney joking with an adviser about stealing the election. The other was a ‘mythic' vision of a state of stasis. I saw a series of images, rooms with dust settling on them, traffic jams at standstill, people immobilized and even paralyzed in a frozen moment of time. Am I seeing something that is literally happening? No, but as I demonstrated in the example of the deer running onto the road, this is not what is happening even in ‘ordinary' short-term precogs. What links these two seemingly different types of experience is the mode of perception. These images, emotions and information are experienced by the perceiver as entering, even taking over, the ordinary, directed mode of perception. This is something I've come to terms with now, but early on, I really didn't like this aspect of precognition. It felt weird, even a little nauseating to have one's apparently sovereign perception hijacked in this way. After a number of precogs turned out to be potentially life saving and also turned out to be absolutely accurate, I changed my disposition toward them. Now, I just pay attention. I don't dismiss them, but I don't encourage them either. In my experience, they are incoming information, my attachment to them in any way doesn't seem to be useful, or productive, so I just let them be; I pay them attention, definitely note them, even when they seem to be ambiguous or confusing.

Of course another question that the precog has to ponder is why doesn't this happen all the time? Why doesn't precognition protect me from anything bad happening at all? Why didn't I have a precog about that bag being stolen, that trip and fall in the street, even the traffic accident that causes the death of a friend? This is really quite a profound question. My conclusion is that the ordinary state of wakeful consciousness is actually a  ‘clear screen' that indicates, as Eckhart Tolle might say, that whatever is happening to us is exactly what should be happening to us for the purpose of evolving our consciousness. It may not be fun, it may not be pleasant, but it is part of the necessary life experience that we must pass through in order to evolve. In fact, I would go further than that and say that precognition is a form of temporal radar that may be constantly scanning the possibility matrix of the ‘future' and subtly adjusting and rearranging the potential futures that we interact with at a threshold below the usual state of consciousness. Then, on unusual occasions and when required, precognition erupts from this quantum ocean of the possible and invades our ordinary, directed states of consciousness.

This may seem a far-fetched and extreme rationalization of psy phenomena, but precognition raises many interesting and significant questions for theories of consciousness and, indeed, for the theories of time in physics, which precognitive phenomena seem to blatantly violate. Most of these questions are unanswered and precognition has proven a notorious difficult field of study. Whereas directed ESP phenomena can be relatively easily tested by double-blind, placebo methods, most experiments testing and assessing genuine precognitive ability would involve a lot of waiting around for something to happen.

One possibility is that precognition is merely a subset of directed psychic phenomena. When I have been traveling with a friend who is a professional psychic working for police forces in the UK doing things like hunting for missing persons, leads in murder cases, and related things, she would amuse us by nonchalantly announcing what her ‘psychic GPS' was telling her. A lot of these predictions were typical ‘around the corner' precog phenomena, like ‘be careful, there's a cyclist around the next bend.' And there always was. And this was normal, everyday experience for her. And unremarkable to us because of her nonchalance.

This seems credible, but it ignores one of the most intriguing epistemological aspects of precognition; the associated feeling that this isn't coming from ‘your' mind. The ‘otherness' of a big precognitive hit to me is palpable. It would be convenient to ignore this aspect of precognition, because it would allow the idea that psychic activity is itself a subset of conscious brain activity more credibility. This in turn would allow these experiences to be more easily viewed as congruent with most contemporary theories of mind that view consciousness as essentially a biophysical process. Unfortunately from the precog perspective, this just doesn't feel right at all. It is not as if the deer around the corner is  an archetype, or a projection. It's an image of the exact deer, in detail. There's nothing symbolic, or mythic about it. It just can't be argued away by suggesting a ‘resonant feedback loop' exists between your brain and an external reality. There's a picture of a deer in your mind and then 15 seconds later you a viewing the same deer. Any coherent theory of precognition is going to have to deal with this. Anyone who has actually experienced precognition just isn't going to buy it otherwise. That doesn't seem to be much of a problem for most researchers investigating the nature of mind. A pervasive skeptical attitude to psychic phenomena exists, at least in the west, in most academic circles. In most cases, skepticism itself seems sufficient to deflect resources away from areas that are troublesome and difficult to study. That omission may well turn out to be the Achille's Heel of modern neuroscience and consciousness research. Liminal areas like precognition repeatedly turn out to be the awkward exceptions that not only don't prove the rule, but thoroughly undermine it in the long term.

As an alternative, I suggest that any coherent theory of consciousness has to deal with the fact that consciousness is distributed throughout space and time in ways that confound the idea that it has a biophysical origin in the brain. Perhaps, indeed, consciousness is at its root a little more like precognition than the rational skeptics would ever be comfortable with. That is to say, consciousness is a localized field phenomenon that concentrates around what we call the event horizon of the present moment. From this center, it radiates in probabilistic quantum waves we call the ‘future'. And this is what we see when we have a precognitive experience. It is literally the ‘future', but it the ‘future' is no longer a place, or destination, but a partially viewable probability matrix which we are forever surfing into on the surfboard of the ‘now'.

This is a theory of mind that would horrify the 19th century empiricists, but doesn't seem so counter-intuitive in a post-quantum world.  After all, isn't it more compelling to develop a theory of consciousness that describes its actual observable qualities, rather than ignores them? If instead of building a theory of consciousness that was congruent with the dogmas of contemporary science, what if we were to build one from the human experience of consciousness outwards and see where the common ground lies? It may be that this ‘quantum theory of consciousness' is merely the next theoretical frontier in the slow motion collapse of scientific materialism.

People who use, or develop, their psychic abilities are often described as being ‘gifted', or even ‘cursed'. I think this can be a very misleading way of perceiving what is happening. It is often as if the psychic or precog is thought of as having an ‘extra', or ‘sixth' sense of perception that others, the non-psychic, don't have. Although some psychics seem to encourage this sense of specialness, I think that this is often more of a commercial dispensation than a philosophical one. To me, in my experience, what is happening to me is clearly something that is latent in all people. It is not as if the precog has an extra set of eyes. It is just that we are open -- whether we like or not sometimes -- to a different form of seeing. That what we ‘see' is not viewed as ‘real' is just a matter of opinion from those who haven't experienced precognition about what is a matter of fact for us. To understand precognition our theories of mind have to open as much as our minds do, if we are to actually describe the reality of precognition in a theory of consciousness that isn't just cherry picking the facts. At least we ‘precogs' can joke about it. Whenever a skeptic says precognition is just a projection, we'll just say "I knew you were going to say that."

Occupy Gaia in 2012: Subtle Activism Meets Street Activism

meditate.jpg

In early October of 1939, one month after Germany invaded Poland, British esotericist Dion Fortune sent a letter to her network announcing the start of a magical project to support the war effort by opening a channel to allow spiritual influences to uplift the "group mind" of the nation. The project came to be known as the "Magical Battle of Britain."

The letter contained instructions for a specific meditation practice that all members were asked to perform each Sunday from 12:15-12:30 p.m. and then again daily at any regular time of their choosing. A small group of experienced practitioners under Fortune's guidance formed the focusing point for the meditation work, sitting in circle together each Sunday at Fortune's home in London.

The meditations involved visualizing certain symbols believed to attract and focus spiritual forces that acted through them. Although the symbols were first created through the imagination, Fortune describes them "coming alive" early on in the group's work, as though taking on independent forms that maintained themselves of their own accord and that developed organically over time. A set of symbols eventually emerged that were associated with key figures from the Arthurian tradition (King Arthur and Merlin) and from Christianity (Christ and Mary). It was understood that, through meditating on these symbols, the network helped to transmit to the collective British consciousness the archetypal ideals of chivalry and bravery associated with both Christianity and the myth of King Arthur, crucially strengthening the nation's resolve during its hour of need. Because the myth created by the network was in deep harmony with the British national tradition, it was thought to have been especially accessible to the national mind. The theory was that individuals would pick up the ideas unconsciously and bring them to consciousness by thinking about them. Experts in various positions of influence would then give concrete expression to the ideals through action in the world. Indeed, Fortune claimed that the editorial pages of The Times -- widely regarded at the time as the mirror of the national mind -- came to give expression to the ideals of the work in a way that was "not only adequate but verbatim.

Subtle Activism

The Magical Battle of Britain is a striking example of what I call "subtle activism" -- the use of spiritual or consciousness-based practices for collective (rather than individual) transformation. Subtle activism is a bridge between the inner world of spirituality and the outer world of activism (as normally conceived) that emphasizes the potential of spiritual practice to exert a subtle but crucial form of social influence. It arises from the recognition that there are many creative ways to support social change and that shifting collective consciousness lies at the heart of any successful campaign. History is replete with examples of victories by armies or social movements that were badly outmatched by their opponents in technology and size, yet which prevailed because they possessed the superior will. Subtle activism feeds the will of a social movement by making it more conscious of, and permeable to, profound evolutionary and spiritual currents that underlie it, adding deeper dimensions of meaning to the movement and inspiring greater levels of motivation and commitment among its participants. It works on the assumption that, beneath the appearance of separation, we are profoundly connected to each other at deeper levels of consciousness, and that the focused spiritual attention of even a relatively small group can subtly and positively affect the collective consciousness of an entire community, nation, or even species.(1) It is not a substitute for direct physical action, but it can play a vital role as part of a more integrative approach to social or planetary change.

While the "Magical Battle" example illustrates a western esoteric approach to subtle activism, it can be practiced in a variety of spiritual forms and traditions. A notable form that has emerged since Fortune's time -- facilitated by the development of the Internet, the growing global interfaith movement, and the increasing hybridization of spiritual traditions -- is a global meditation event involving many thousands of people engaged in synchronized spiritual practice in different parts of the planet. In whatever way it is practiced, subtle activism can be seen as one of a growing number of creative spiritual responses to the challenges of our times that recognize the need to integrate the paths of inner and outer transformation.

Looking at our present moment, how might we engage in the practice of subtle activism to support the Occupy Movement and the broader movement for global transformation it represents?

The Spiritual Dimension of the Occupy Movement

From the beginning, there seems to have been a certain magic to the Occupy Movement. Whereas most interventions by progressive activists in recent decades failed to make hardly a dent in mainstream awareness, the Occupy Movement almost instantly struck gold. It was quickly recognized as something more than just another protest, a movement of potentially historic significance. Whether it was the brilliant marketing meme of "Occupy," the simplicity of the "We are the 99%" message, the strategy of setting up encampments, or just the stars lining up right, it evidently tapped a red-hot vein in the collective psyche and inspired a widespread excitement that fundamental systemic change might actually be possible.

At the time of writing, with many encampment sites largely abandoned for the winter or having been shut down, the movement seems to be in a liminal phase, trying to ascertain its next move. Some are already writing eulogies, arguing that the movement has failed to channel its early momentum into a mission specific enough to gain political traction. Perhaps this is true. Yet the seeds of revolution planted in the fall will inevitably sprout forth again in new ways, and probably soon.

The injustices highlighted by the movement have not in any way been addressed and, with the events of the Arab Spring, the emergence of the Spanish and Latin American indignados, and the proliferation of Occupy sites world-wide, it is obvious that we have entered one of those rare historical periods in which the zeitgeist supports revolutionary action.

The bigger picture is that the issue of economic injustice targeted by the Occupy Movement is just one symptom of a multidimensional global crisis that is exerting enormous evolutionary pressure on humanity to make a fundamental shift. To acknowledge the multiple threats of climate change, peak oil, massive species extinction, calamitous loss of topsoil, overpopulation, and potential financial collapse is to recognize that the current form of our civilization is rapidly approaching its demise. In this context, the Occupy Movement represents an inevitable uprising of the life force on the planet to attempt to initiate a new way forward.

The transition we are called to make goes far beyond incremental policy changes within the current system, positive though such changes might be. We are called to re-imagine and re-create our world around fundamentally new organizing principles. The old world is essentially on life support in any case. Our choice really is to participate consciously in the birth of the new era, or to have it forcibly and painfully delivered to us.

At the heart of the transition lies a shift in consciousness from the modern trance of experiencing ourselves as somehow separate from each other, from nature, and from the cosmos to a mode of awareness in which we acknowledge and live the truth of our interdependence and interconnection. Ecologist and cultural historian Thomas Berry succinctly summarized this shift as one in which we will experience the universe as "a communion of subjects" rather than as "a collection of objects." For human civilization truly to become a benign and sustainable presence on the planet, we will need not only to develop a global culture of cooperation, rather than competition, to solve the many planetary-scale challenges that affect all humans, but also to fundamentally transform our relations with the entire community of life on the planet.

Although the Occupy Movement has focused its attention on the inequities of the financial system, I believe that much of the excitement it initially generated was because, in the diversity of its participants and in the generality of its aims, it also represented a long awaited public stance for a fundamentally new and more inclusive world on every level. The General Assemblies and the practice of making decisions by consensus, for example, can be understood as an evolutionary experiment to create new, more participatory governance processes that could serve as models to better harness the collective wisdom of a society. The spiritual significance of the movement can thus be seen in the way it has created an opening in the socio-political domain through which the seeds of the new consciousness can enter.

Whether the new consciousness will actually take root and flower through the Occupy Movement is an open question. As noted, after the initial eruption of energy in the fall, the movement has entered a more introspective phase, an in-breath, to pause, gather energy, and reflect before making its next major outward push. And the movement does face many challenges: how to resolve internal conflicts about whether to adhere to non-violence as a strategy versus 'a diversity of tactics' that includes property damage or even physical violence; how to avoid becoming overly focused on disputes with police and local authorities regarding the encampments at the expense of highlighting the primary issue of economic injustice; how to embrace the complexity of protesting against a financial system we still use and depend upon.

Yet this period of inner reflection and dialogue represents an ideal time to channel energy into the movement to help realign it with the deeper impulses that provided it with its power and relevance in the first place. This is the work of subtle activism, accessible to almost anyone. Again, it is not a substitute for more obvious or direct forms of action -- which are necessary and to be encouraged -- but it represents a creative response that allows many people to become engaged who might otherwise remain passive. Out of the wide spectrum of actions that can be undertaken for social change, frontline engagement does not call to everyone (and of those called, not all can respond). Indeed, in relation to the Occupy Movement, for every person who has camped out in tents and marched in the rallies, there have surely been hundreds, if not thousands, or even millions who have sympathized with the protesters, yet who would not or could not join them in the streets. Through subtle activism, we can link together with all who share our sense of the underlying promise of the Occupy Movement (including those on the streets) and build a global field of awareness that holds a space for the highest possibilities to emerge from the movement.

Here is a project that provides a way to do just that.

Occupy Gaia

Occupy Gaia is a subtle activism program convened by the Gaiafield Project (http://gaiafield.net) to help build a global field of support for the Occupy Movement. (2) It is one of a surprisingly large number of initiatives that have been developed to link the transformative power of spirituality to the Occupy Movement (other examples include meditation flash mobs, Sit for Change, Buddhist Peace Fellowship, Zen Peacemakers, and various interfaith coalitions). Occupy Gaia involves two free one-hour teleconferences/audio webcasts per month, in which participants engage in a simple subtle activism practice. After callers introduce themselves, the practice starts with a short guided meditation to connect participants to themselves, to others on the call, and to subtle and overt dimensions of the natural and spirit worlds. Then a period of silent meditation follows, usually about 20-25 minutes long, during which participants bring their inner attention to the Occupy Movement while remaining open for any guidance that might arise from the field. In the final stage of the practice, participants are invited to share any insights or experiences that came to them during the meditation. The call becomes like a multi-dimensional planetary oracle, with a field of deep collective wisdom about the current state of the movement emerging from the intersection of our human awareness, the inner and outer ecology of Gaia, and subtle dimensions of spirit. Personally I almost always experience the calls to be profoundly meaningful and am usually struck by how quickly an atmosphere of deep intimacy develops from participants sharing their inner worlds with each other.

This article is a call to action for all who resonate with an inner approach to collective transformation. To those who feel the call, we invite you to join us on the second Wednesday of each month, from 5.30-6.30pm Pacific time and/or on the fourth Friday of each month from 8.30-9.30am Pacific. For the call-in details, please visit http://gaiafield.net.

Notes

1. A growing body of scientific evidence supports this hypothesis. See the many well-documented studies by researchers associated with the Transcendental Meditation movement that show consistent, statistically-significant correlations between the presence of large TM groups and improvements in indicators of social harmony (such as crime rates) in nearby cities. (For a good summary of the research see TM researcher David Orme-Johnson's website: http://www.truthabouttm.org or Robert Oates's Permanent Peace: How to stop terrorism and war-now and forever.) Also note the strong evidence of non-local transmission of mental images between human minds in parapsychology research, such as the remote viewing studies undertaken by the US government at the Stanford Research Institute in the 1970's and 1980's and the ‘ganzfeld' studies conducted by a variety of researchers since the 1970's (for a detailed discussion of this research see Dean Radin's The Conscious Universe).

Energy and Our Energetic Fields

hubble.jpg

The following is excerpted from Energetic Boundaries: How to Stay Protected and Connected in Work, Love, and Life, available from Sounds True.

Ever since we crawled out of that primordial slime, that's been our unifying cry, "More light." Sunlight. Torchlight. Candlelight. Neon, incandescent lights that banish the darkness from our caves to illuminate our roads, the insides of our refrigerators. Big floods for the night games at Soldier's Field. Little tiny flashlights for those books we read under the covers when we're supposed to be asleep. Light is more than watts and footcandles. Light is metaphor. Light is knowledge, light is life, light is light. --Television producers and screenwriters Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider

Everything in this world, from sunlight to cupcakes, is made of energy. Energy is simply information that vibrates or moves. Some energy, such as the energy composing a table or a chair, moves slowly. You can see, touch, discuss, and prove the existence of these slow-energy objects. But most of the energy in this world can't be seen, heard, or touched through our typical five senses. It moves so fast that we can't perceive it; usually, we can notice only its effects. Is the energy transmitted by your car radio any less real than the energy that makes up the book on your coffee table? How about the microwaves that zap your food or the satellite transmissions that zip e-mails your way? You know these energies exist, even though you can't see them, yet they are vital to your life.

Trillions upon trillions of bits of energetic data are zinging around us 24/7, and our energetic boundaries, themselves composed of fastmoving, unseen energy, keep us from being overwhelmed by them all. Energy also composes our feelings, thoughts, and needs, as well as our inherent beliefs and spiritual essence.

Throughout history and across all cultures, intuitives, healers, visionaries, and shamans have been able to perceive the energetic fields that science is only now coming to comprehend and study. In fact, they have been able to see and work with the three systems that link our physical and spiritual energies and interact to form our overall energetic anatomy: the channels, also called the meridians; the centers, the most well known of which are the chakras; and the fields, one of which is the auric field. Other types of fields include various types of magnetic fields, morphogenetic or species-based fields, miasmic or disease-creating fields, and all sorts of other fields that link our inner self with the outer world.

The meridians spread energy throughout our body. The chakras are energy receptors or holders, located mainly inside of the body. The fields, expanding bubbles or circles of light, are found outside of our body, emanating from our skin to several feet away. These fields compose our energetic boundaries. They listen to the data in our chakras and other energy centers to determine which information to bring from outside to inside of us. The fields also communicate messages from us to the outer world. There are actually dozens, maybe even hundreds or thousands of layers or energy boundaries extending from your body. Some hover upon your skin like a butterfly kiss; others are similar to madcap children, dashing in all directions. Some of these fields perform specific activities, ranging from protecting us from dangers to attracting people to us. (For information on the scientific research about and evidence and applications of these various energetic systems, please see my book The Subtle Body: An Encyclopedia of Your Energetic Anatomy.)

The most well-known field is the auric field. Many believe that our auric field is the same as our electromagnetic field, a continually emerging and fluctuating field of energy produced by the electrical currents in our bodies. Every cell in our body pulses with electricity. Electricity produces magnetism, which means that every cell and organ, as well as the entirety of your body, generates energy fields. Kirlian photography, a scientific tool in use since the 1930s, employs a special type of film to illuminate the life energy, or auric field, around plants, animals, and people. Kirlian images reveal that all living beings emanate a set of electromagnetic fields.

These fields are interactive; they both take in and emit energy. That's why you can sense people, or even get a read on their personalities, when they walk into your space. Our energetic fields respond to trauma and healing energies. They also react to emotions and love; when two people interrelate, their energy fields blur and merge. Science can locate the heart field from at least four to six feet away from the body, which means we're able to exchange energy with others near us, but we can also swap energy with people hundreds of miles away. As quantum physics is proving, once two particles or people have met, they remain connected forever. That's how you know what's happening to your best friend who you haven't talked with for months or how you sense the exact moment a faraway loved one dies.

Even more startling, human energetic fields invite energy-information exchanges between people who have never met, between the living and the dead, and between people from the future and present day. And this process isn't limited to people. We can also converse energetically with plants, animals, and even inanimate objects.

No matter which scientific instruments we employ, we can take pictures of only a few of the many known energetic fields. Dozens of other scientifically proven energies, such as high-level infrared, ultraviolet, and gamma waves, as well as microwaves, expand farther than and stretch under visible light, the tiny spectrum of color we're used to working with. Every physical cell and organ actually generates its own magnetic or auric field. Furthermore, your body is 70 percent water, and each water molecule in your body spawns its own energetic field, because water molecules have north and south poles and conduct electricity. With so many individual components of our body generating their own energetic fields, it's almost impossible to figure out how many energy fields each of us actually has.

Most images of the auric fields depict them as rippling bands of light. This is because electromagnetic energy is light. The electromagnetic spectrum is really a band of different speeds and temperatures of radiating energy or light. At the measurable end of this spectrum are radio waves, which, with their long wavelengths and low frequencies, are considered low energy, or not very powerful. On the other end are gamma rays, which feature short wavelengths and high frequencies, and are high in energy, or very intense. Somewhere in the middle is the relatively small band of energy called visible light, the range of rainbow colors we're actually able to see.

These various electromagnetic energies are not really different from each other. They are all made of photons, the unit of energy that creates light. This means that everything composed of electromagnetic energy is light, including your energetic fields-and you yourself. Research such as that conducted by Hal Puthoff, and discussed by Lynne McTaggart in her book The Field, is showing that we are actually made of and surrounded by photons. Our DNA is, in fact, a biophoton machine, a mechanism responding to the light outside and inside of us.

Not only are we made of light, but we also generate light. That personal, literal light radiates from deep within our bodies. It also streams right through from outside to the inside of us, not stopping for skin or clothing. Because we consist of light, our energetic boundaries are nothing more or less than light.

Our auric field actually consists of twelve different bands of light.

Each band operates at a different frequency in the electromagnetic spectrum. For instance, most intuitives and Kirlian photographers see the band closest to our skin as red. We are born with each layer intact, but each becomes active at different points in our lives, from conception all the way to our elder years. The bands become colored in, or tuned to a specific frequency, with our life experiences.

Measuring the Miracles of your Energy Field

Decades ago, only mystics and madmen believed that there was an energy field around all living beings. Now science has actually proven that series of fields exists and that the sum total is much stronger and more potent than ever imagined. In fact, research done on this field is yielding a rich base for everything from diagnosing illness to enhancing food to creating prosperity.

The new science started in 1963, when Gerhard Baule and Richard McFee of Syracuse University detected a biomagnetic field around the human heart. The prefix bio stands for biology, or the chemical processes that create life. Magnetism is the energy produced by electricity, although it can also generate on its own under certain conditions. In the 1970s, researcher David Cohen of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) used a SQUID (superconducting quantum interference device) magnetometer, a means of measuring magnetism, to confirm Baule and McFee's results and measure the magnetic fields surrounding the human head and produced by brain activities.

Science has since started using the magnetocardiogram and magnetoencephalogram to measure magnetism from the heart and head, respectively. The magnetic fields detected by these instruments are so strong that we can analyze them for signs of disease before disease shows up in traditional medical tests. Illness alters the biomagnetic field, and the "sick area" of a field can be tracked to the related part of the body. Even more importantly, changing the biomagnetic field changes the body, which means that pulsing magnetic fields into the body can stimulate healing.

For almost five centuries, healers across the world have used the energy of their own bodies to help others heal, to detect events before they happen, and to transform physical matter. Eastern medicine is based on these concepts, as are most shamanic methods from the Western world. It's pretty amazing that science is now showing how these practices work in physical reality, and research is revealing the potential of these long revered, ancient practices.

For instance, in 1992, Japanese researchers studied practitioners of various martial arts and healing practices. Many of these systems are based on the idea that a natural energy called qi (chi), prana, mana, orgone, life energy, kundalini, or other names flows through the body and regulates health. These researchers discovered that the qi emission from hands is so powerful that it can be detected with a simple magnetometer consisting of two coils with 80,000 turns of wire. Since then, a number of studies of qi gong, a well-respected energy-balancing method, have measured the sound, light, and thermal fields emitted by its practitioners.

Particularly important is that the frequencies of these emanations, which often pulse, vary from moment to moment. Medical researchers creating pulsating magnetic- field therapies are discovering that these same frequencies can actually initiate healing in soft and hard tissues, even in patients who have gone unhealed for as long as forty years.

Other research is just as exciting. Bioengineering professor Henry Lai of the University of Washington, along with three colleagues, used weak magnetic fields to eliminate and heal malaria bacteria. In the study of magnetism, researchers found 33 to 70 percent fewer parasites in the exposed versus unexposed samples.

These dances into the scientific prove what ancient wisdom has already known: if you paint your world with every color of the rainbow, the world will smile back.

Exercise: Finding your Field

Want to see your energy field with your eyes? Find a private place with low or soft lights. You want to be as relaxed as possible, so you might want to sit in a comfortable chair or lie on your bed. You don't need much light-a candle in the corner, light seeping under your door, or the moon or streetlights shining through your bedroom window.

As your eyes become accustomed to the relative dark, hold out your hands and gaze at them. Your eyes should be glazed; you might want to actually peer just beyond your hands and keep your hands in your peripheral vision.

Now move your fingertips so both hands are touching, finger to finger. Breathe deeply, sensing the spiritual flame inside your heart. Consciously invite this flame to emanate from your heart, down your arms, through your hands, and into your fingertips. After you can feel the exchange of this spirit-flame between your fingertips, examine the outside rim of both hands. You might see a hazy, rather dim corona of light. Now move your fingertips slightly apart and gaze at the electrical charge that continues to connect them.

If you want, consciously send this energetic electricity from one fingertip to another and then move this glowing blaze over your skin, up and down your fingers, and over your hands. What happens? Can you perceive a shift in the hazy white you previously perceived?

You can play with this energy as long as you desire. When you are done, gently release your fingers from their position and draw the energy back into your heart. Breathe deeply and return to everyday consciousness.

Apocalyptic Machine Music?

strangesounds.jpg

In recent months there have been a number of YouTube videos posted from around the world of unusual sounds emanating from either the ground or sky, with no clear point of origin. Videos have been posted from the United States, Canada, Brazil, Costa Rica, Budapest, Taipei, Chile, Mexico, Czech Republic, France, Norway and Denmark.

The sounds can be grouped into a few different types, the most common being a low roaring or metallic sound that has been compared to the sound of the tripods from Speilberg's War of the Worlds, or to the monster from the Cloverfield movie. Other sounds are a low throbbing and a vocal-sounding reverberation. Some names being used are "Godzilla" or "apocalypse" sounds. In November 2011, Macleans magazine ran an article about a low humming that was keeping residents of Windsor, Ontario up at night. In January, television news in Costa Rica ran a story about these sounds, and several YouTube videos have been posted from Costa Rica. In the past week, a wave of reports have come in from western Canada, including this video from an Alberta forest.

What is most remarkable is the consistency of the sounds across different regions of the globe. Not surprisingly, many theories are being put forth, such as biblical apocalypse, HAARP, Mayan calendar, and military testing. Another idea being talked about is that this is a meticulously executed marketing campaign for an upcoming movie or video game. Out of the large number posted, some videos are clearly hoaxes.

OLYMPICS – HIDDEN SYMBOLISM – OPENING CEREMONY

by AYEM
28 Jan 2012

Okay – Is it just me or does everyone else ‘see’ what’s going on here?

Yesterday’s announcement of the ‘news’ that the official opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics will commence with the ringing of a 27-ton bell – (that’s twice the size of Big Ben) inscribed with a line from Shakespeare’s The Tempest: “Be not afeard, the isle is full of noises.” – Literally made me shiver!

My skin crept too, when I went on to read that during the ceremony –

“Up to 900 children, aged seven to 13, from the local Olympic host boroughs are also set for a starring role in the London 2012 ceremonies.”

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/olympics/huge-bell-set-to-ring-in-london-2012-olympics-6295620.html

I bet they are! (Note the age of the children – all pre-pubescent)

This proposed ceremony – or ‘Ritual’ is just steeped in symbolism – and subliminal Mind-Control.

Just that line alone, inscribed upon the bell – refers (in my opinion) to a far greater – and deeper meaning.

Here’s the quote in full – read by Caliban – Act III Scene 2

“Be not afeard; the isle is full of noises,
Sounds, and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears; and sometime voices,
That, if I then had waked after long sleep,
Will make me sleep again: and then, in dreaming,
The clouds methought would open, and show riches
Ready to drop upon me; that, when I waked,
I cried to dream again.”

William Shakespeare – The Tempest

In ‘The Tempest’ the character Caliban is said to be a hideous, monstrous being – a representation of – part fish, part beast, part man – the ensuing result and offspring between his mother, – the witch Sycorax and the Devil himself.

Additionally, scholars believe that the character’s name Caliban is said to be an anagram of the word cannibal –

http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=cannibal

Here’s a couple of depictions of Shakespeare’s Caliban. (click to enlarge)

This gargantuan 27 ton bell which will be used in the opening ceremony, (inscribed with Caliban’s quote from ‘The Tempest’) is deeply significant – especially because of how Vibration, Tone and Harmonics affect the physical body (and our DNA) as well as our consciousness.

The frequency of a bell’s note varies with the square of its thickness, and inversely with its diameter.

I was curious to know more about the note of the bell, so earlier today, I tried to contact the bell’s manufacturer – The Whitechapel Foundry in London- to see if they could tell me which tone and therefore which Frequency the bell will emit. That way, I can discover the impact that this will have, in terms of it’s Harmonics. Alas, they’re closed on a Saturday but I look forward to seeing what sort of feed-back I receive. If however, they tell me that this is information which they don’t wish (at this point) to disclose, then I won’t be at all surprised.

Remember too that in days gone by – bells were used to communicate to people ‘en masse’ – or for ritualistic, religious gatherings, or ‘mass’.

Here’s a quote about the bell which is being used in the opening ceremony from The Telegraph.

“A one-million-watt sound system will be fitted to allow the 80,000 spectators and one-billion-plus TV viewers to enjoy music from techno group Underworld.”

(Note the name of the ‘techno’ group – Underworld – Co-incidentally, the group are friends and former collaborators on earlier films – with the Director of Opening Ceremonies, Danny Boyle)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-16747032

Note too the symbolism of the time that the ‘Entertainment’ kicks off within the stadium –

“Before the 20,000-cast event kicks off on 27 July at 21:00 BST, with the tolling of the bell, an Olympic Stadium packed with 80,000 spectators will be entertained by a pre-show that will start at 12 minutes past eight – 20:12 BST.”

There’ll be tons more to come out, I’m sure – and way before the opening ceremony date.

Just the brief references I’ve made here to just a few of the plans – smacks to me, of so much more of what’s really planned in terms of mass-hypnosis and distraction – all hyped up under the banner of the Olympics – to forward more sinister agendas.

It’s so easy to do this – when the head’s distracted and the heart’s not open – Piece of cake.

Syllable and Sound

mick2.jpg

The following was originally presented as a lecture at Duke University, January 2010; originally printed in Trigger93: The Word, Volume 1.

"The brain is just the weight of God," wrote Emily Dickinson,

For, lift them, pound to pound,

And they will differ, if they do,

As syllable from sound.[1]

Poets must be shamans of a particular kind, playing with language, which means playing with interpretations, tricks of reference, and heart-rending ambiguity. It is a tremendous thing, the ultimate estranging Enlightenment thing, to reduce God to an entity that, like the brain, can be weighed and compared pound to pound. But then once you have taken that plunge, it is hard to resist going the whole hog and asking literal questions: how much might he weigh, and whether his weight is constant and whether, like an Old Testament god such as Brecht's Baal, he might be prone to stuffing himself with food and drink and blowing out into a many pounded god indeed? Is he middle class so that even if he is god of the fast-food nation he can yet remain like Bill Clinton slim and trim, as is not only proper, nowadays, but is the sort of miracle that only he could pull off and that America sorely needs? Is he even a guy?

Of all organs, the brain strikes me as especially uncanny to look at and to hold and to eat, too. Is this because it is quote unquote the seat of consciousness, which must be very close to god, especially when you consider the very strange status of that piece of it called the pineal gland, seen by different philosophers, such as Rene Descartes, as the guardian of the threshold where matter and ideas, things and god, meet? Ah! The pineal gland, that good old friend lost in swirling deconstructing mists of con-fusion, its importance way bigger than its diminutive size, more like a syllable than a sound, like Kafka's doorman to the law who likes to keep you waiting way past bedtime.

Well that was a long time ago, you say, so now I should, like a good scientist, bring you up to date and tell you about a professor who came to my campus in Ann Arbor as a special guest of the philosophy department and who was kind enough to give a little talk to the anthropologists on certain aspects of the topic of his invention known as "sociobiology." When he was done, a graduate student challenged his reduction of mind to matter, and she did so in a rather persistent manner. The visitor brought out two words that I recall well -- talk about poetry! One was "preprint," which was new to me, and the other was -- well you guessed it -- our old friend the pineal gland. He had a preprint with him he said, gesturing vainly to his back pocket, and went on to sketch in the miraculous role of the pineal gland -- what I call Kafka's guardian -- in pulling off the greatest alchemical trick of all time, converting chemical and electrical impulses into thoughts and god knows what else god knows.

Poets must be shamans of a particular kind, conjuring and sleight of hand being their tools of trade, and here I cannot but wonder at the relationship between "preprint" and pineal gland, as if the pineal gland is the permanently preprinting device, that god-awesome potential behind all potentiation, the dream and vision almost within grasp that, yes!, with a little more of a nudge and a little more money from the National Science Foundation, will -- like infinitesimal calculus -- keep on closing the gap between soul and electricity, thought and genes, mind and matter...such that finally, on the Day of Judgment perhaps, we shall be able to fuse the two into one, like cheese melting into the pizza crust.

I wonder, however, if reduction of this order can ever be achieved without the miracle working pizza god? For as the professor reached for his preprint, he became pale -- perhaps the preprint was not there or was only in the pre-preprint stage -- and he slowly slid off his chair into a dead faint. Boy, were his hosts in the philosophy department worried, running around in circles looking for a wet handkerchief while casting dirty looks at that graduate student who was basically doing nothing more than following graduate school protocol in going for the jugular, as they say. Others might call it murder, or at the least manslaughter, and still others sorcery. Slowly he recovered consciousness and was led away by his handlers to deliver, next day, a robust declaration concerning sociobiology. But you do have to wonder. Perhaps the pineal gland misfired or something? Who knows?

On the other hand might this not have been a fortuitous ascent into the higher realms of consciousness whereby the soul escapes the body for a lofty purpose, thereby contributing in no small measure to the power and brilliance of his lecture the following day? Who knows. Poets must be shamans of a particular kind, conjuring and sleight of hand being their tools of trade, and of course picturing too, as in a blacked out lecture hall in an old Midwestern university where a slide-show is going on sometime around 1980. Up on the stage a strongly built academic is in his three-piece suit lecturing on his favorite theme, ethnobotany, a field he claims to have invented or at least put on the map. The hall is large and full of people.

The slide-show takes us to the Amazon looking for rubber for the USA during World War II and then, lo and behold!, we come across some Indians with their strange hair-dos and body paint and near nakedness. Why! They are taking drugs! Some rare snuff you get blown up you nose through a hollow bird bone the shape of a "Y."

In the dark, the lecturer is but a vague shadow manipulating the images that come out of nowhere to fall like blessed light on the screen. The face of one of those Indians now occupies the whole screen. It is a face covered with yellow-green mucus. He is cross-eyed and out of focus. Heaven forbid, he is taking a psychedelic drug. The hall is deathly quiet.

"They call this drug their god," says the man in the three-piece suit. His voice reverberates.

He pauses, a blur in the dark, "I will show you what their god is!"

Poets must be shamans of a particular kind, conjuring and sleight of hand being their tools of trade, along with their picturing. The screen goes black for a moment and is then filled with the most serene blue, that celestial blue of the ceilings of churches in the countryside in Colombia, that same celestial blue I saw repeatedly in medical school in Australia in biochemistry classes, the trick being that the white outline of the hexagonal benzene ring is thereby brilliantly set off and easy to read.

And here it was again. Twenty years had passed. And here it was again. That same blue. That heavenly blue. And that same hexagon, albeit with a few more bells and whistles.

"This is their god!"

And there was their god. A hexagon ring on its bed of celestial blue. The audience gasped and tittered and I, who had also taken hallucinogens with the Indians in the Amazon, walked out, stumbling in the dark and leaving them to further enlightenment.

So by all means let us talk about science and religion, but first let us talk a little about the art of science including its shamanism and the art of out-shamanizing the other shaman, which is what most of shamanism is about anyway.

What the man in the three-piece suit did not get, at least consciously, and ditto the audience, was the stupendous fact that in replacing "their god" with a biochemical formula he was actually showing us his god and implicitly urging us to accept this god as ours as well.

The translation of god into a hexagon is pretty much the same as the pre-print of the pineal gland in that in trying to close the gap by reducing god to a chemical, you become aware that the gap can never be closed. The cheese will not melt into the pizza. The magical thing -- the formula -- is itself just that: magical, a symbol, if you like, standing in for something else that leads to another something else ad nauseam. Hexagons all the way down.

Moreover the man in the three-piece suit is piggy backing on them naked Indians and their gods of the pre-print era. He uses them to cancel themselves out in place of science. But he does not realize that in cancelling them out this way he is actually in need of their power -- their symbolic power, if you like -- so that as with Hegel's aufhebung he is utterly dependent on the ghost in the machine, the act he is reacting against, victim of the anxiety of influence that befalls us all. This is nothing more than the missionary position as well as that of the conquistadores, building churches on top of their temples.

Finally, I hardly need to bring to your attention the ritual upon which all this depends-the darkened room, the man with the magic wand-i.e. pointer, the magic of the slides, the abrupt montage action from the mucus smeared face to the celestial blue of chemistry, and of course the exotic nature of the subject matter, all mustered together to provide a mighty wallop.

Poets must be shamans of a particular kind, conjuring and sleight of hand being part of their trade, so it would only be fair for me to tell you about my own performance as an academic giving the lowdown on magic and the religion-science interface. It was many years ago in 1972 in the whitewashed colonial city of Popayan in Southern Colombia and I was giving an academic talk -- my very first -- to an audience of students and professors in a room in the Casa Mosquera in the oldest university in the Americas. A job was being advertised in the anthropology department and I had elected as my title "Brujeria y Estructura Social" (Witchcraft and Social Structure), having been impressed by two things that had happened to me recently. One was my discovery of sorcery and the other was my desperate search for enlightenment on this obscure and eerie topic -- it never having been part of my orthodox Marxist sociological training at the LSE.

With the luxury of hindsight I now see that my lecture title was intended to impress my prospective audience with a finely balanced tension between mystery and science, as with the magical word "estructura" or "structure," the implication of that one word being that science had magic by the balls, so to speak.

When I got off the bus after a three hour trip up the Andes from the hot sugarcane valley where I lived, I was both surprised and proud to see in bold black letters on yellow parchment on the venerable whitewashed walls all over town that a "Dr. Michael Taussig from the University of London" was going to give a talk on "Witchcraft and Social Structure." Later I realized that this advertising all over town was responsible for the large number of elderly women seated in the front rows of that room in the Casa Mosquera, silent as mice but with anticipation all over their faces. It turned out that they were witches themselves or attached to spirit centers of dubious repute.

Opening with a description of the poverty in the sugarcane areas, I used the word barriga to describe the swollen stomachs of a near majority of kids because of malnutrition and intestinal parasites. Like a shot, a professor of anthropology -- who had extensive rice farms in that region and had written on tobacco among Colombian Indians for the same ethnobotany department that the man in the three piece suit had founded -- stood up shouting that he didn't want to hear any more of this demagoguery and that the word barriga was vulgar usage. I was staggered. But no sooner had he spat out what he had to say than a bunch of vociferous students stood up and shouted at him that he was the demagogic one! I have no idea how I finished my talk but I do recall the glistening eyes of the elderly ladies in the front row.

However I did finish, to tepid applause, only to be met by a strident call to arms from the back of the room. With the voice of a preacher, a man in his thirties implored the audience to take account of the work of Sir Isaac Newton. "Once you reckon with that," he thundered, "you will realize there is no such thing as witchcraft." The women in front were spellbound, as was I. "This must be like what happened in the days of Enlightenment," I thought to myself, "in Paris, London, and Konigsberg."

To say the least I was confused and a little scared by the passions aroused as one of the elderly women approached me, smiling, with her card advertising a spirit center. With my title advertised all around town -- Witchcraft and Social Structure -- I had come looking for a job as a scientific anthropologist. To polish my wares I had industriously applied the poetics-of-mystery versus the revelatory powers-of-science, allowing the concept of "structure" to do the heavy lifting, so as to allow science to have the final say. And what had happened? The witches took me as one of their own and the students, who had at first rushed to my defense, finished up by throwing Marxist and Enlightenment stones, identifying me in the same way as did the elderly ladies, as a spokesman for witchcraft. Everything was twisted upside down. Truly witchcraft is a trying phenomenon. There seemed no room for the neutral, dispassionate observer because description was conflated with advocacy -- first by the large rice farm owner, professor of anthropology, interpreting my description as demagogic leftism, and later by the students, or some of them, conflating my description with advocacy of something that, according to them, did not exist or, if it did, should not. Their dilemma was that of outlawing something that in their eyes did not exist. This must have been the same dilemma facing administration in the colonies of the European powers. What good would Sir Isaac Newton provide me in such a situation, especially as I was now on the side of the witches?

Poets must be shamans of a particular kind, conjuring and sleight of hand being part of their trade, and here I was, the scientist, caught by poetics and hung out to dry. Let us review the evidence.

First, the sociobiologist, the ethnobotanist, and I myself, were all operating in fields overlapping with, or fully within, the human and social sciences. Second, we were each of us operating in one of the preeminent theaters of scientific discussion, namely the lecture theater. Third, each one of us acted like shamans in using our trick of the trade-language, our mumbo jumbo such as the pineal gland, the "pre-print," the biochemical formula, and in my case the ever-ready workhorse of "structure." Fourth, in each case we were addressing issues of consciousness, and in my case and that of the ethnobotanist, that of religion and magic, making a real mess of things. We were novices because we had gotten the science-magic thing ballsed up. We were totally taken in by scientism and the mythology of the detached observer, oblivious to our social and mythic contexts and the impact our selves made in those contexts. We were in fact using implicit magic to contain magic. We were using ritual and theater to contain ritual and theater. And we were using poetry to out-maneuver the poetry inherent to all human understanding and activity. And we failed. We were not up to the task. Maybe the ethnobotanist got away with it. You can't beat a magic lantern show and he had enormous prestige and the right audience, young science jocks like himself. And plants are guarantees of innocence and honesty, not to mention beauty.

But we were not good enough because we were confused without knowing we were confused. We thought we were fighting the good fight against obscurantism and mumbo jumbo, magic, and religion, etc., in the name of genetics and Darwin, biochemistry, and structure. But willy nilly without being aware, we were actually practicing the same stealth arts we thought we were fighting, and from which we thought we were immune. If only we had started afresh, with the poets, and listened to Emily Dickinson, "The brain is wider than the sky,"

For, put them side by side,

The one the other will include

With ease, and you beside.[2]

Is Compassion Hard-Wired Into The Human Genome?

Sayer Ji, Contributing Writer

The Smell of Anxiety Induces Empathy In Humans

New research is flying in the face of many popular and not-so-forgiving views about 'human nature.'

The research indicates there is an olfactory-based, evolutionary mechanism built into the human genome/soul to feel empathy for the anxiety/suffering of others.

In a fascinating study entitled "Induction of empathy by the smell of anxiety," published in the journal of the Public Library of Science (PLoS) in 2009, researchers discovered:

"The chemosensory perception of human anxiety seems to automatically recruit empathy-related resources."

Smelling chemical signals from the sweat of anxious subjects elicited an empathic response, even when the smell was below the threshold of consciousness in half the subjects.

Empathy, in fact, has concrete and measurable therapeutic effects in others. In 2009, researchers found that practitioner empathy reduced the duration of the common cold in their patients. Conversely, a negative and/or indifferent attitude towards the patient has measurable adverse effects, also known as the nocebo effect.

Given that many believe empathy is not "hard-wired" into us, but rather represents a "higher faculty" in constant struggle with our "baser," fundamentally selfish instincts, this new research is all the more encouraging.

Perhaps in light of this new finding, it will be easier for those who do not experience compassion directly or often enough, either on the giving or receiving end, to come to appreciate its essential role in our past, present and future.

Proof that Your Own Thoughts and Beliefs Can Cause Self-Healing

Andre Evans
Activist Post

If you are struggling with any major health concern, it is important to realize that your mind can sometimes be your own worst enemy, or it could be the main reason for treating a problem.

Increasingly, it is being recognized that a ‘mind over matter’ approach can actually produce noticeable results in your health.

Numerous studies abound on the nature of the mind-body relationship, and how your mind can affect your biological functions. Much like how a hypochondriac may convince himself that he is sick, and subsequently ‘find’ (or make up) symptoms of his illness, a negative or even apathetic mindset may induce you into a lesser state of health. Conversely, having a generally positive disposition or outlook with regards to your health may actually make you healthier.

In clinical studies where patients are given placebos, they often will respond positively to them due to the expectation that they are receiving some form of beneficial medicine. Although not talking about placebo sugar pills specifically, this kind of self-treatment can be seen in one case where a woman’s own thoughts made her lose nearly 112 pounds.

Proof that Your Own Thoughts and Beliefs Can Cause Self-Healing

What makes these test subjects have a positive response? Definitely not the sugar. An assumed belief that they are being positively affected by whatever they may have been given is what actually causes the change. If this is the case, then it means that your mental state plays a vital role in how your health progresses, or degenerates.

The power of the mind is immense. Its influence can literally bend reality to match its perspective. You can often influence a situation more by thinking about it meticulously, as opposed to simply acting. If you believe something to be true, you will conform the world around you to match this expectation.

If you believe that your illness is getting worse, it will probably get worse. If you believe that your treatment is helping you, you could actually cause massive self-healing to occur. Assuming a disposition will automatically prejudice your mind, and therefore cause your body to react either positively or negatively.

This applies to all things, not just health and wellness. Assuming a positive attitude and an optimistic demeanor will actually help you to overcome your trials in life, whether they are physical, mental, or emotional.

Though we face these trials, let them not be overwhelming or intimidating. Meet them with optimism and enthusiasm, expecting all the while to overcome them.

DNA Can be influenced and reprogrammed by words and frequencies

by Grazyna Fosar and Franz Bludorf
Russian DNA Discoveries:
Original version

THE HUMAN DNA IS A BIOLOGICAL INTERNET and superior in many aspects to the artificial one. The latest Russian scientific research directly or indirectly explains phenomena such as clairvoyance, intuition, spontaneous and remote acts of healing, self healing, affirmation techniques, unusual light/auras around people (namely spiritual masters), mind’s influence on weather patterns and much more. In addition, there is evidence for a whole new type of medicine in which DNA can be influenced and reprogrammed by words and frequencies WITHOUT cutting out and replacing single genes.

Only 10% of our DNA is being used for building proteins. It is this subset of DNA that is of interest to western researchers and is being examined and categorized. The other 90% are considered “junk DNA.” The Russian researchers, however, convinced that nature was not dumb, joined linguists and geneticists in a venture to explore those 90% of “junk DNA.” Their results, findings and conclusions are simply revolutionary! According to them, our DNA is not only responsible for the construction of our body but also serves as data storage and in communication. The Russian linguists found that the genetic code, especially in the apparently useless 90%, follows the same rules as all our human languages. To this end they compared the rules of syntax (the way in which words are put together to form phrases and sentences), semantics (the study of meaning in language forms) and the basic rules of grammar.

They found that the alkalines of our DNA follow a regular grammar and do have set rules just like our languages. So human languages did not appear coincidentally but are a reflection of our inherent DNA.

The Russian biophysicist and molecular biologist Pjotr Garjajev and his colleagues also explored the vibrational behavior of the DNA. [For the sake of brevity I will give only a summary here. For further exploration please refer to the appendix at the end of this article.] The bottom line was: “Living chromosomes function just like solitonic/holographic computers using the endogenous DNA laser radiation.” This means that they managed for example to modulate certain frequency patterns onto a laser ray and with it influenced the DNA frequency and thus the genetic information itself. Since the basic structure of DNA-alkaline pairs and of language (as explained earlier) are of the same structure, no DNA decoding is necessary.

One can simply use words and sentences of the human language! This, too, was experimentally proven! Living DNA substance (in living tissue, not in vitro) will always react to language-modulated laser rays and even to radio waves, if the proper frequencies are being used.

This finally and scientifically explains why affirmations, autogenous training, hypnosis and the like can have such strong effects on humans and their bodies. It is entirely normal and natural for our DNA to react to language. While western researchers cut single genes from the DNA strands and insert them elsewhere, the Russians enthusiastically worked on devices that can influence the cellular metabolism through suitable modulated radio and light frequencies and thus repair genetic defects.

Garjajev’s research group succeeded in proving that with this method chromosomes damaged by x-rays for example can be repaired. They even captured information patterns of a particular DNA and transmitted it onto another, thus reprogramming cells to another genome.
So they successfully transformed, for example, frog embryos to salamander embryos simply by transmitting the DNA information patterns! This way the entire information was transmitted without any of the side effects or disharmonies encountered when cutting out and re-introducing single genes from the DNA. This represents an unbelievable, world-transforming revolution and sensation! All this by simply applying vibration and language instead of the archaic cutting-out procedure! This experiment points to the immense power of wave genetics, which obviously has a greater influence on the formation of organisms than the biochemical processes of alkaline sequences.

Esoteric and spiritual teachers have known for ages that our body is programmable by language, words and thought. This has now been scientifically proven and explained. Of course the frequency has to be correct. And this is why not everybody is equally successful or can do it with always the same strength. The individual person must work on the inner processes and maturity in order to establish a conscious communication with the DNA. The Russian researchers work on a method that is not dependent on these factors but will ALWAYS work, provided one uses the correct frequency.

But the higher developed an individual’s consciousness is, the less need is there for any type of device! One can achieve these results by oneself, and science will finally stop to laugh at such ideas and will confirm and explain the results. And it doesn’t end there.
The Russian scientists also found out that our DNA can cause disturbing patterns in the vacuum, thus producing magnetized wormholes! Wormholes are the microscopic equivalents of the so-called Einstein-Rosen bridges in the vicinity of black holes (left by burned-out stars).
These are tunnel connections between entirely different areas in the universe through which information can be transmitted outside of space and time. The DNA attracts these bits of information and passes them on to our consciousness. This process of hypercommunication is most effective in a state of relaxation. Stress, worries or a hyperactive intellect prevent successful hypercommunication or the information will be totally distorted and useless.

In nature, hypercommunication has been successfully applied for millions of years. The organized flow of life in insect states proves this dramatically. Modern man knows it only on a much more subtle level as “intuition.” But we, too, can regain full use of it. An example from Nature: When a queen ant is spatially separated from her colony, building still continues fervently and according to plan. If the queen is killed, however, all work in the colony stops. No ant knows what to do. Apparently the queen sends the “building plans” also from far away via the group consciousness of her subjects. She can be as far away as she wants, as long as she is alive. In man hypercommunication is most often encountered when one suddenly gains access to information that is outside one’s knowledge base. Such hypercommunication is then experienced as inspiration or intuition. The Italian composer Giuseppe Tartini for instance dreamt one night that a devil sat at his bedside playing the violin. The next morning Tartini was able to note down the piece exactly from memory, he called it the Devil’s Trill Sonata.

For years, a 42-year old male nurse dreamt of a situation in which he was hooked up to a kind of knowledge CD-ROM. Verifiable knowledge from all imaginable fields was then transmitted to him that he was able to recall in the morning. There was such a flood of information that it seemed a whole encyclopedia was transmitted at night. The majority of facts were outside his personal knowledge base and reached technical details about which he knew absolutely nothing.

When hypercommunication occurs, one can observe in the DNA as well as in the human being special phenomena. The Russian scientists irradiated DNA samples with laser light. On screen a typical wave pattern was formed. When they removed the DNA sample, the wave pattern did not disappear, it remained. Many control experiments showed that the pattern still came from the removed sample, whose energy field apparently remained by itself. This effect is now called phantom DNA effect. It is surmised that energy from outside of space and time still flows through the activated wormholes after the DNA was removed. The side effect encountered most often in hypercommunication also in human beings are inexplicable electromagnetic fields in the vicinity of the persons concerned. Electronic devices like CD players and the like can be irritated and cease to function for hours. When the electromagnetic field slowly dissipates, the devices function normally again. Many healers and psychics know this effect from their work. The better the atmosphere and the energy, the more frustrating it is that the recording device stops functioning and recording exactly at that moment. And repeated switching on and off after the session does not restore function yet, but next morning all is back to normal. Perhaps this is reassuring to read for many, as it has nothing to do with them being technically inept, it means they are good at hypercommunication.

In their book “Vernetzte Intelligenz” (Networked Intelligence), Grazyna Gosar and Franz Bludorf explain these connections precisely and clearly.
The authors also quote sources presuming that in earlier times humanity had been, just like the animals, very strongly connected to the group consciousness and acted as a group. To develop and experience individuality we humans however had to forget hypercommunication almost completely. Now that we are fairly stable in our individual consciousness, we can create a new form of group consciousness, namely one, in which we attain access to all information via our DNA without being forced or remotely controlled about what to do with that information. We now know that just as on the internet our DNA can feed its proper data into the network, can call up data from the network and can establish contact with other participants in the network. Remote healing, telepathy or “remote sensing” about the state of relatives etc. can thus be explained. Some animals know also from afar when their owners plan to return home. That can be freshly interpreted and explained via the concepts of group consciousness and hypercommunication. Any collective consciousness cannot be sensibly used over any period of time without a distinctive individuality. Otherwise we would revert to a primitive herd instinct that is easily manipulated.

Hypercommunication in the new millennium means something quite different: Researchers think that if humans with full individuality would regain group consciousness, they would have a god-like power to create, alter and shape things on Earth! AND humanity is collectively moving toward such a group consciousness of the new kind. Fifty percent of today’s children will be problem children as soon as the go to school. The system lumps everyone together and demands adjustment. But the individuality of today’s children is so strong that that they refuse this adjustment and giving up their idiosyncrasies in the most diverse ways.

At the same time more and more clairvoyant children are born [see the book “China’s Indigo Children” by Paul Dong or the chapter about Indigos in my book “Nutze die taeglichen Wunder” (Make Use of the Daily Wonders)]. Something in those children is striving more and more towards the group consciousness of the new kind, and it will no longer be suppressed. As a rule, weather for example is rather difficult to influence by a single individual. But it may be influenced by a group consciousness (nothing new to some tribes doing it in their rain dances). Weather is strongly influenced by Earth resonance frequencies, the so-called Schumann frequencies. But those same frequencies are also produced in our brains, and when many people synchronize their thinking or individuals (spiritual masters, for instance) focus their thoughts in a laser-like fashion, then it is scientifically speaking not at all surprising if they can thus influence weather.

Researchers in group consciousness have formulated the theory of Type I civilizations. A humanity that developed a group consciousness of the new kind would have neither environmental problems nor scarcity of energy. For if it were to use its mental power as a unified civilization, it would have control of the energies of its home planet as a natural consequence. And that includes all natural catastrophes!!! A theoretical Type II civilization would even be able to control all energies of their home galaxy. In my book “Nutze die taeglichen Wunder,” I have described an example of this: Whenever a great many people focus their attention or consciousness on something similar like Christmas time, football world championship or the funeral of Lady Diana in England then certain random number generators in computers start to deliver ordered numbers instead of the random ones. An ordered group consciousness creates order in its whole surroundings! [http://noosphere.princeton.edu/fristwall2.html] [1] When a great number of people get together very closely, potentials of violence also dissolve. It looks as if here, too, a kind of humanitarian consciousness of all humanity is created.

At the Love Parade, for example, where every year about one million of young people congregate, there has never been any brutal riots as they occur for instance at sports events. The name of the event alone is not seen as the cause here. The result of an analysis indicated rather that the number of people was TOO GREAT to allow a tipping over to violence.

To come back to the DNA: It apparently is also an organic superconductor that can work at normal body temperature. Artificial superconductors require extremely low temperatures of between 200 and 140°C to function. As one recently learned, all superconductors are able to store light and thus information. This is a further explanation of how the DNA can store information. There is another phenomenon linked to DNA and wormholes. Normally, these supersmall wormholes are highly unstable and are maintained only for the tiniest fractions of a second. Under certain conditions (read about it in the Fosar/Bludorf book above) stable wormholes can organize themselves which then form distinctive vacuum domains in which for example gravity can transform into electricity.

Vacuum domains are self-radiant balls of ionized gas that contain considerable amounts of energy. There are regions in Russia where such radiant balls appear very often. Following the ensuing confusion the Russians started massive research programs leading finally to some of the discoveries mentions above. Many people know vacuum domains as shiny balls in the sky. The attentive look at them in wonder and ask themselves, what they could be. I thought once: “Hello up there. If you happen to be a UFO, fly in a triangle.” And suddenly, the light balls moved in a triangle. Or they shot across the sky like ice hockey pucks. They accelerated from zero to crazy speeds while sliding gently across the sky. One is left gawking and I have, as many others, too, thought them to be UFOs. Friendly ones, apparently, as they flew in triangles just to please me. Now the Russians found in the regions, where vacuum domains appear often that sometimes fly as balls of light from the ground upwards into the sky, that these balls can be guided by thought. One has found out since that vacuum domains emit waves of low frequency as they are also produced in our brains.

And because of this similarity of waves they are able to react to our thoughts. To run excitedly into one that is on ground level might not be such a great idea, because those balls of light can contain immense energies and are able to mutate our genes. They can, they don’t necessarily have to, one has to say. For many spiritual teachers also produce such visible balls or columns of light in deep meditation or during energy work which trigger decidedly pleasant feelings and do not cause any harm. Apparently this is also dependent on some inner order and on the quality and provenance of the vacuum domain. There are some spiritual teachers (the young Englishman Ananda, for example) with whom nothing is seen at first, but when one tries to take a photograph while they sit and speak or meditate in hypercommunication, one gets only a picture of a white cloud on a chair. In some Earth healing projects such light effects also appear on photographs. Simply put, these phenomena have to do with gravity and anti-gravity forces that are also exactly described in the book and with ever more stable wormholes and hypercommunication and thus with energies from outside our time and space structure.

Earlier generations that got in contact with such hypercommunication experiences and visible vacuum domains were convinced that an angel had appeared before them. And we cannot be too sure to what forms of consciousness we can get access when using hypercommunication. Not having scientific proof for their actual existence (people having had such experiences do NOT all suffer from hallucinations) does not mean that there is no metaphysical background to it. We have simply made another giant step towards understanding our reality.

Official science also knows of gravity anomalies on Earth (that contribute to the formation of vacuum domains), but only of ones of below one percent. But recently gravity anomalies have been found of between three and four percent. One of these places is Rocca di Papa, south of Rome (exact location in the book “Vernetzte Intelligenz” plus several others). Round objects of all kinds, from balls to full buses, roll uphill. But the stretch in Rocca di Papa is rather short, and defying logic sceptics still flee to the theory of optical illusion (which it cannot be due to several features of the location).

"2012" and Electromagnetic Effects on Consciousness

The following is excerpted from Revolution 2012 by Dieter Broers (First English language edition 2010 ©2010 Scorpio Verlag GmbH & Co. KG, Berlin • Munich Translation by Robert Nusbaum) First published in German as a hardcover edition © 2009 Scorpio Verlag GmbH & Co. KG, Berlin.

I am convinced that we are currently in the midst of a process involving the restructuring of our neuronal networks, and that the catalyst of this process is the high solar-geomagnetic activity whose consequences are feared by so many people today. However, all facts and findings add up to the undeniable conclusion that this evolution will for the first time in human history enable us human beings to use the enormous potential of our brains.

David Samuels from Israel's Weizmann Institute has estimated that the brain's basic range of activities is driven by between 100,000 and 1 billion different chemical reactions every minute. The average human brain contains a minimum of 10 billion individual neurons or nerve cells -- a figure that is even more astounding when you stop to think that each neuron can interact with many other neurons. In 1974 neurophysiologists discovered that some 10800 (10 to the 800th) interconnections come into play in this regard. The magnitude of this capacity is comparable with the following cosmic facts and figures: inasmuch as the atom is the smallest unit in the universe and the universe itself the largest, it is estimated that the universe contains a total of 1080 (10 to the 80th) atoms. In other words, the number of interactions in the human brain far exceeds the number of atoms in the universe.

Moscow University physicist Pyotra Anokin feels that the aforementioned estimate of possible interactions in the human brain is unduly low. According to his calculations, the potential number of structures that the human brain can create is so large that writing them out as a figure would translate into a line approximately 6.5 million miles long. So clearly we have not even begun to tap into the amazing potential of our brains -- a situation that can be likened to using an area the size of a dust particle in a 500 room mansion.

The question then arises as to whether using our brains more efficiently will enable us to find an adequate response to the events of 2012. First of all, we need to realize that the brain and the mind are two different things. The mind can influence brain activity and vegetative processes by means of highly unusual suggestions, the most striking example being Buddhist masters whose ability to meditate enables them to put their brains in a tranquil state that palliates pain and that can even stop the beating of the heart.

Apart from this, what matters here is that our brains are always active whether we're awake, asleep, calm or agitated, and are always seeking intensity, new experiences, and long term connections. When the human brain is exposed to new impressions, as well as mental and emotional stimuli, new synapses (interfaces between neurons) are created.

In other words, the human brain floats in a kind of rapturous harmony as long as it receives the right kind of stimuli. This is in keeping with the attendant electrochemical principle of all or nothing, which forms the basis for electrochemical communication between neurons -- and in our context for interaction between the heretofore unused regions of the brain. If this weren't the case, it would make no sense for us human beings to be endowed with a brain whose potential is never fully exploited. Indeed, it almost seems as though this miraculous organ were waiting for 2012 to finally prove what it's capable of.

Apart from electrochemical information processing, our brain engages in other processes as well -- processes that form the basis for our subconscious. According to the American physicist Evan Harris Walker, the human mind and human consciousness are not empirically measurable quantities. Walker believed that consciousness is not a chemical process or the like, but is instead attributable to a quantum mechanical tunnel process -- a theory that is consistent with the views of a growing number of quantum physicists and brain scientists. Walker also persuasively showed that the brain's synapses exhibit quantum mechanical phenomena, for which models have been posited by David Bohm and Basil Hilely. These authors report astonishing similarities between quantum potential and neurological connections in the brain.

These connections are far from being well ordered for in fact, chaos is the mainstay of the brain's processes. This chaos, which comprises a veritable maelstrom of diffuse stimuli processing activities, is the precursor of a coherent equilibrium at higher levels. Creativity researchers have observed a similar phenomenon in which the creative mind initially processes totally chaotic and even contradictory concepts that ultimately translate into the beginnings of order and stability in the latter stages of the creative process. Hence, contrary to the law of entropy (order), evolution is moving toward negentropy (instability), a process that is at once feasible, useful and logical since it enables evolution to unfold in an "open system" so as to allow the brain to absorb new information and adapt in highly complex ways.

This prompted Ilya Prigogine to observe that each organized system dynamically shifts between a state of entropy and negentropy, i.e. between order and chaos. Moreover, Prigogine says, the greater the system's potential instability, the more readily it adapts and changes. This principle fits the brain like a glove.

But where, then, is the seat of the mind, this mysterious locus of self awareness that amalgamates intuition, common sense, emotions and the intellect? For the moment I will leave it to neurologists to figure this out -- although I will have more to say about this issue later on. First, though, I'd like to discuss the mental and psychological process of self discovery. The mind-brain system evolved out of a series of successive matrices. The first higher order matrix within which we move is undoubtedly the source of all life. According to Prigogine, for the infant brain a transition to a new harmonic matrix entails constant exposure to new resources that allow for the development of potential, self assurance, and skills.

These matrices, which are extremely concrete at the outset, become ever more abstract over time by dint of their exposure to perceptible reality, ultimately evolving into the matrix of pure creative thinking. Each transition to a new matrix is associated with unknown and unforeseeable experience that forms the basis for an increase in intelligence. According to Timothy Leary, each of us inherits a precoded draft of future organisms that differs considerably from the current human race and from most forms of human existence. And in the same vein, Michael Hutchison prophesied that the brain has learned more about itself over the past decade than during its entire history, and that henceforth human intelligence will evolve in quantum leaps.

Although I have already made the essential points regarding the effects of natural and artificial force fields on the brain, it should be noted here that phenomena such as the body's rhythms that are controlled by the pituitary gland can be affected by electromagnetic fields, which can have a significant impact on moods, activity patterns and the circadian rhythm. So a great deal remains to be discovered in this domain.

Some years ago I was part of a research team that measured the brain waves of test subjects at regular intervals via EEG. We found that specific electromagnetic fields sporadically acted on the test subjects' brains, without their being aware of this phenomenon. One of our most striking findings was that the test subjects' brain waves could be altered via exposure of the brain to electromagnetic waves; and as if this weren't astonishing enough, we also found that we could even control the test subjects' brain waves using these fields. For example, the EEG frequency of a test subject with a predominant baseline frequency of 10 hertz could be increased to 12 hertz each time we exposed the subject to an exogenous 10 hertz electromagnetic field that was then increased to 12 hertz. We concluded from this that endogenous rhythms are governed by their exogenous counterparts.

These experiments convinced me beyond a shadow of a doubt that human cells and electromagnetic fields do in fact interact; and this may in fact be one of the primary reasons why I decided to write this book. These findings also opened my eyes to processes that were of fundamental importance for my own research in that I now had incontrovertible, empirical proof that electromagnetic fields have a direct impact on brain activity.
